Chocolate Cake

Classic Chocolate Cake

What you need:

  • Boiling water – 500ml
  • Half teaspoon of salt
  • Butter – 245g
  • Cocoa – 90.5g
  • Plain Flour – 400g
  • Caster Sugar – 475g
  • Bicarbonate of Soda – 2 teaspoons
  • 4 eggs
  • Baking powder – half teaspoon
  • Vanilla Essence – 1.5

 

Process:

  1. Turn on the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees
  2. Bring water to a boil and pour over cocoa and whisk until smooth
  3. Mix in flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and salt
  4. In a separate bowl, mix cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in 1 egg at a time then add in Vanilla essence. Then add flour mix with cocoa mix
  6. Spread evenly between 3 medium containers
  7. Bake for 25mins
